Second Annual Baccalaureate Service Sunday, June 7
Chambers College held their first baccalaureate service last April. This year’s Baccalaureate service features two graduates: Sharon Rhoades, receiving an Associate of Arts of Christian Ministry and Erik Peterson, receiving a Master of Christian Liberal Arts from the graduate program.
Sharon Rhoades has been taking college classes and has Rhoades at Towerparticipated in two London trips. She had completed an extensive amount of academic work, writing a published book, designing Christian education programs and managing women’s mimistries over the years. These previous academic pursuits combined with her course work at Chambers College qualified her for an A.A. with Chambers College.
Much of Erik Peterson’s program work is in the area of communications, and the most recent project is a multi-media presentation of Christian Apologetics.

Being a small college allows us to have flexibility to tailor our classes to available resources and student needs. Erik Peterson’s project became a multi-faceted pursuit that provided educational opportunities for other college students, as well as fulfilling his own life dreams.

The Baccalaureate service is at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7th. There is a formal high tea preceding the service at 5:00 p.m. in Reformation Hall, Reformation Baptist Church, 1300 Ninth Street, Greeley, CO. All are welcome to both events. Please RSVP acceptance to 970-346-1133.

Besides the project leader Erik Peterson, were Baxter Ong, Tessa Powell and Christopher Ong, all earning graduate level credit in documentary production, apologetics, and curriculum development. The project included Saturday program production planning sessions led by Erik Peterson as well as classes on debate and apologetics throughout the semester.

Undergrad student Seth Keith also joined us is some film shooting training and the apologetics debate class, as well as studying a survey course on producing documentaries.

One session in England included the Master Teachers component as we asked Dr’s Elaine and Alan Storkey additional questions about ministry and preparing to be good testimonies in a secular society.Watch Brothers (2015) Full Movie Online Streaming Online and Download

Dr. Alan Storkey being interviewed

There is already a hint of another trip to England to do some more interviews after a contact was made with Dr. Andy McIntosh, who is a professor at Leeds University and a specialist in the field of thermodynamics, as well as an astute creationist.

The CHESS-Chambers College Connection
The horizontal and vertical integration of CHESS and Chambers continues to mature and develop.

CMatthewhambers grad Matthew Aden recently married Rose Cassidy. The romance blossomed as they were both on the Chambers London Tour, and continued as they participated in the first Master Teachers tour. Matthew will be the new principal of CHESS, which is returning to rent the building at Reformation Baptist Church. The new office manager will be Tessa Powell, who is close to completing her Master of Christian Liberal Arts degree. Her Chambers College semester in England last fall developed very well, as she did research on how Christians (past and present) live out their Christian testimony in educational settings of all kinds. The Board President of CHESS is Nels Nelson, who is married to Annie Nelson, a student in the Chambers College Graduate program and a favorite teacher for CHESS.

This symbiotic relationship between the two institutions has been greatly advantageous and enjoyable for all involved and has the perfumed scent of the importance of family-oriented education for Christ.

Second Master Teachers tour
We are now planning the U.S. portion of the Master Teachers Tour II. There will be an integration with the Beyond Coincidence interviews. This tour will have the personal testimony of each master teacher followed by a short video filming of our guests discussing their specialties as they intersect with Christian apologetics.

England Trip 2015
There were several dimensions to the England trip with its 10 participants. The Beyond Coincidence film shoot project took on its own life as five of us traveled to Oxford and Cambridge to film background material and interview a variety of professors. The other half of the group participated in the London Study Tour.
Steve and Teri stayed on for an additional 10 days to tour England and develop some more contacts for the “Beyond Coincidence” project.

Advanced Book Club and Inklings
To help encourage continuing education experiences, Chambers College sponsors a once-a- month book reading discussion. The next book to be discussed is part 2 of Matthew Henry’s Meditations on Prayer. This has been a tremendous blessing to the group. A free lunch is available at each meeting (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm.)
Also, on Monday evenings once a month, the Inklings Club meets to read works that are being written by various members. The characteristic all Chambers students seem to share is a love for great Christian books and a desire to write. Call for meeting times and to get on the email roster to attend.

Publications by Chambers Students
Chamber College Press continues to produce some good books. Here are some books published by Chambers College students.

We are featuring

Pattern from Proverbs by our graduating student Pattern for Proverbs cover rhoadesSharon Rhoades for $10.00.
It is hoped this study in Proverbs 31 will not only be one of instruction, but also encouragement, featuring instruction to those who perhaps have never had biblical teaching on how to be a godly woman and wife.
Many today don’t even know practical, common sense ways of living and having successful relationships with others. It will also encourage those who are living a godly life to keep up the good work and to teach others to do the same.

Publications by Chambers Faculty

Two new works by Teresa Ong are available.
Steps to Christian Virtue is a devotional book (77 short messages). Each message is based on a stanza from “The Church Porch” by 17th century poet George Herbert. His poetry contains many witty, but practical suggestions for “putting off the old man and putting on the new.” Good for personal or family devotions.
Doula: a Story of Love is an allegory about the relationship of the believer to the Bridegroom, Christ. It is a coming of age story about a servant girl, Doula, as she matures in her relationship to her Betrothed.
